Melty chili cheese dip made with Hormel chili and cream cheese. A warm and comforting dip that makes a perfect game day snack.
This is my go to dip to serve or bring to parties. It is so simple to make and only takes 3 minutes to microwave!
With only 3 ingredients this is also pretty cheap to make too. I love to stock up on the Hormel chili cans with no beans so I can make this dip anytime!
This is another big family favorite recipe, with my husband being the biggest fan! He always says that there is a 4th secret ingredient…which is love! Awwww! Which also makes me laugh too!
But seriously, this dip will disappear before your eyes! If I know it will be serving a lot of people, I will double the recipe for sure! The single recipe will serve about 3-4 people, or 2 people with a big appetite!
What size pan is needed for Chili Cheese Dip?
A microwavable 8×8 dish with sides is a perfect size for this recipe. It also fits in the microwave great. If are looking to double the recipe, use a 9×13 dish with sides. Depending on your microwave this size might not fit, in that case go ahead and pop it in the oven at 350 degrees F. for about 10 minutes or until warm and the cheese is melted.
What kind of chili is used in Chili Cheese Dip?
Hormel chili no beans is used as the chili base in this dip. If you prefer beans in your dip the regular Hormel chili can be used instead. The Hormel chili is nice and thick and not too runny. It makes the dip thick easy to scoop up with chips.

Ingredients for Chili Cheese Dip
Cream Cheese: Regular cream cheese spread at the bottom added for a creamy flavor.
Hormel Chili No Beans: Adds the “chili” to the chili cheese dip. I prefer the no beans can, but if you are a fan of beans in your dip, go ahead and use the regular Hormel chili can.
Shredded Cheddar Cheese: Adds a tangy flavor to the dip. Sharp cheddar cheese tastes best , but a mild cheddar cheese can also be used.
How to make Chili Cheese Dip
In a microwave safe dish, spread the cream cheese in the bottom of the dish in a flat layer. I like to use an 8×8 glass dish with tall sides.
Spread the Hormel chili no beans over the top of the cream cheese. If you DO like the beans in the Hormel chili, that can be used instead of the no beans kind.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the chili.
Microwave on high for 3 minutes.
Remove from the microwave and stir all the ingredients together.
Serve warm with tortilla chip or pita chips!
This dip reheats well and stays fresh in the fridge for 2-3 days.
