Parmesan turkey meatballs served with homemade garlic bread. A healthy twist on an easy weeknight classic meal.

The ground turkey used in these make them a lot healthier than using ground beef.  You could also use gluten free pasta, or get rid of the pasta all together and just serve the meatballs with the tomato sauce! Super yummy either way and a really fast weeknight meal.

I actually like to make the meatballs up beforehand and freeze them. Then all I have to do is pull them out of the freezer, pop them on the baking sheet and cook them in the oven for about 20-30 min.

Shape the meatballs and place them on a baking sheet, spread them apart as if I was going to cook them, but instead, pop that whole tray in the freezer.

Let them freeze for a couple of hours and then you can take them all off the tray and put them together in a freezer bag.  Doing it his way keeps them from sticking together inside the freezer bag.

This is a super kid friendly meal too! That is, if your kids like meatballs! One of my kids likes eating the meatballs, the other not so much. So that is where the spaghetti comes in nicely, so I can just serve the spaghetti and tomato sauce with no meatballs.

Don’t forget about the side of garlic bread to go with this! This is really easy to make, just with some butter and garlic salt.

A healthy twist on an easy weeknight classic meal. Juicy, flavorful meatballs filled with parmesan, served with homemade garlic bread.

Mix together well, and shape into golf ball size balls.

Spray a non stick cooking spray on a baking pan with an edge.

Place the meatballs on the baking pan, spreading them apart a little.

Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes, or until internal temperature reads 165 degrees.

While the meatballs are cooking, pour the marinara sauce in a pan on the stovetop over low/medium heat. Heat until sauce is warm.

If you want to add spaghetti noodles, you can cook them along side the sauce, following the box instructions.

Also if you want to add garlic bread to your dinner, slice up a loaf of fresh French bread, 1 inch thick.

Spread butter and garlic salt on each piece. Place all the pieces back together to form the loaf shape and wrap it in tin foil, with the top open just a bit to let the heat in.

I just did a couple pieces in this picture..usually I do at least half a loaf!

Place the bread in the oven 10-15 minutes until the butter is melted.

Once everything is done being cooked, layer the meatballs on top of the noodles on each plate and pour some sauce over the top however much you desire. Sprinkle some parmesan cheese over top and serve with a side of garlic bread to sop up all the extra sauce!
