Smooth and creamy homemade guacamole that tastes better than store bought! So easy to make with just a few simple ingredients!
I love to make my own homemade guacamole! The stuff from the store is ok in a pinch, but this recipe is way better.
What I also love, is that you can add or not add whatever you like to your guacamole. I personally don’t like any “extra” ingredients in my guacamole, just smooth and creamy for me! Making it this way also allows me to use this as a spread on sandwiches and wraps.

What to do if the avocados are not ripe
If you find yourself with some avocados that are not quite ripe, stick them in a brown paper bag with an apple or banana. The chemistry between these two will make the avocados ripen faster.
Ingredients for Creamy Homemade Guacamole
Avocados: Ripe avocados are needed so they smash up well. Stick them in a brown paper bag with an apple or banana to ripen up faster.
Garlic Salt: Brings a salty garlic flavor to the guacamole
Fresh Garlic: Fresh minced garlic gives the best flavor for the guacamole.
Black Pepper and Sea Salt: Use fresh ground peppercorns and fresh ground Himalayan Sea Salt for the best flavors.
Lime Juice: Fresh squeezed lime juice is best, but lime juice in the bottle can be used as well.
Cilantro: Fresh chopped cilantro is a must! The dried or bottled versions do not compare in flavor.
How to make Creamy Homemade Guacamole
Cut the avocados in half and scoop out each side into a big bowl. Discard the seeds.
Chop up the cilantro.
Smash up the avocados with a fork until a nice creamy consistency.
Add in the cilantro, garlic salt, lime juice, pepper, garlic, and sea salt. Stir up until everything is evenly mixed.
That’s it!! Super easy and fast, and now you have a nice appetizer or a guacamole spread for your sandwiches or wraps!
Time to add the extras!
Add any extras at this point if you want! Chopped tomatoes, onions, bacon, jalapenos, pineapple, or corn are some great add ins!
How to store Creamy Homemade Guacamole
Store the guacamole in an air tight container. Store in the fridge, good for up to 5 days. The guacamole will naturally turn a brown color after a day or so, stir it up before eating. You can try keeping the avocado seed in the guacamole so it does not turn brown as fast.
