A sweet and tangy homemade French dressing. Made with simple pantry ingredients that come together in minutes.
This is an old fashioned French dressing that my grandma used to make. A classic that is still a favorite in our family for sure!
Making your own salad dressing is so easy and so much better for you without all those preservatives! I absolutely love making my own dressings, dips, and sauces…probably because they are so easy to do and come together in minutes. Not to mention that I usually have all the ingredients on hand already.
I don’t know about you guys but my family LOVES French dressing. My grandma, mom, sisters and I would always fight over the bottle during family get-togethers. I remember growing up my mom would always make this French dressing and have a bottle of it in the fridge at all times. She would usually just refill an old empty bottle of salad dressing! I like to put all my homemade dressings in mason jars.

1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon paprika
How to make Homemade French Dressing
Ok…real easy here guys. Gather all your ingredients. I used sunflower oil, but you could use whatever kind of oil you have at home like canola or vegetable oil. As long as it is not an oil that is overpowered with flavor, otherwise it will take over the flavor of the dressing.
In a mixing cup or blender, add all ingredients in order.
Blend until smooth in a blender or shake by hand very well.
If you have one of those shaker cups with the ball in it that would work great here as well!
And you are done! Easy peasy.. and this should last in the fridge for a couple of weeks.
