A frozen mixture of brandy, lemonade, orange juice, and black tea topped off with 7up.  Brandy Slushies are perfect for the summer!

This is a fun drink to make for a party or summer BBQ! Super easy to make ahead of time and then when you want to serve it, scoop it into cups and pour 7 up over the top!

It does take about 1 day for the slushie part to freeze, so you do have to plan ahead when making this.

I have also used lemonade and black iced tea in place of the 7up and it is still amazing!

This makes a pretty big batch, so it’s perfect if you are making it for a party. Just cut the recipe in half if you do not need as much!

Also, you can use pretty much any kind of brandy in this and it would taste great. I used a peach brandy the last time I made this and it was super yummy!

Ingredients for Brandy Slushies

  • Brandy: Any kind of brandy will work for these slushy drinks. I used a peach flavored brandy and it was amazing! The slushy drink is sweet overall so the peach brandy brought a nice flavor to it.
  • Water: The base of this slushie drink that we dissolve the sugar in.
  • Sugar: Dissolved in the water to make a sugar water to bring sweetness to the drink.
  • Frozen Orange Juice Concentrate: Mixed with the sugar water, the orange juice brings a nice sweet and tart to the drink. The frozen concentrate has a nice slushie texture so that it scoops out better.
  • Frozen Lemonade Concentrate: Same as the orange juice concentrate, it has a tart flavor that adds to the drink. I have also used frozen lime concentrate in place of the lemon and it tasted just a good!
  • Boiling Water: Made separate on the side to steep the tea bags in.
  • Black Tea Bags: Steeped in the boiling water, then the tea is added to the slushie mix for a nice base flavor.
  • 7up: Poured over the frozen mixture right before serving. Anything with fizz will work here. I have added lime seltzer water over the top of the slushie instead of the 7up and it still tasted amazing! The seltzer water is a nice alternative if you find this too sweet or sugary.

How to make Brandy Slushies

Bring the 7 cups of water to a soft boil in a pot over medium high heat on the stovetop.

Add in the 1 cup sugar and stir until dissolved. Set aside and let it cool.

Take the 2 cups of boiling water and add the 4 tea bags and let them steep. Remove and let cool to the side.

In a big container or bucket that is freezer friendly, add in the tea, sugar water, frozen orange juice, frozen lemonade, and brandy. Mix everything together.

What kind of Brandy for Brandy Slushies?

Really any kind of brandy will work in this as long as it doesn’t have a lot of spice flavor. Also the brandy gets hidden by all the other flavors so you don’t have to use a real expensive brand. I used a peach brandy in this recipe and it was super yummy!

I recommend using something with a lid so that it doesn’t spill all over your freezer.

Freeze for about 24 hours.

7up or Seltzer water?

It all depends on how sweet you want this drink. The 7up definitely brings the sweet and fizzy, but if it’s too much for you, then go with a flavored seltzer water that has zero sugar in it. I recommend either regular, lemon, or lime seltzer.

Once frozen, scoop out and fill the cups, then pour in the 7up over the top. Garnish with lemons or oranges to make it look festive! Also would be cute with some pretty straws! Be creative with this and enjoy!!
