A refreshing summer drink to cool you off on those hot summer days. Made with fresh blueberries, a homemade blueberry syrup, and honey whiskey.
What better way to cool off in the summer than this whiskey lemonade? I just love the combination of flavors in this drink. All the sweetness from the blueberries with the tartness of the lemonade is just perfect!
I am not a huge whiskey fan, however my brother is and last summer he took us all to a whiskey distillery. I tried a few different drinks made with the whiskey and was pleasantly surprised, and my favorite by far was their blueberry whiskey lemonade! So much that I wanted to recreate it at home.
So I just followed a recipe for simple syrup, except I added in the blueberries. Mix that with the lemonade and whiskey and that’s all there is to it!
The simple syrup recipe makes more than you need for two drinks, but it keeps in the refrigerator for about a week.
I tried a few different types of whiskey for this drink and have found that my favorite is the Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey Whiskey. I just really like the honey flavor that it brings to the drink.
